Happy B-day to...ME!!!

I just realized after writing a short Biography I have been in the tanning industry for 15 years now. Here is a little bit about myself and how I got started.

"My name is Gina Manis and I was introduced to spray tans in 2000.  At the time I was working in a tanning bed salon and my boss bought an airbrush machine. I believe back then spray tans were done mainly by airbrush and not hvlp turbines. There wasn't much information back then but I came to love it and saw its value. In 2003 the salon closed and I bought the machine from my boss. I kept her clientele and went to their homes to do spray tans. I started trying different products and I even bought a hvlp. But still even to this day, I love airbrush tanning equipment more. In 2006, I had my second child and wanted to be home more so I started looking for work online. I decided to start selling the products I loved and the equipment for spray tanning since I knew so much about all types of items by then.  By 2008 I had my first online store and fell in love with my work all over again.  I have loved helping others get their businesses started ever since."

Are Spray Tans Healthy?

Some tips about spray tan products and how to keep healthy during your next spray tan!

For those of us who enjoy the benefits of tanning, UV rays have always been their worst enemy. Tanning beds and even taking in the warm sun have revealed many health impacts from sunburning to skin cancer – Basically any browning of the skin is a sign of damage! So what about spray tanning?
When I first tried spray tanning I was hooked instantly – No side effects, don’t have to lay out for hours, and it lasts for a a couple weeks with good moisturization. We’ve all been taught that the sun and other UV rays are a short term solution, but what can spray tanning do to your health? Here are some quick facts you may want to know to help guide your next spray tan:

1. The main ingredient in most sunless spray tans is DHA
   1. DHA has been around since the early 70’s in most external beauty products. Although not harmful externally, when ingested DHA has shown to have some pretty adverse effects. To sum it up, make sure that your next spray tan is organic and approved by the FDA.

1. Some organic spray tanning solutions have been evaluated and approved by the FDA
   1. This means that you can legitimately swallow the product without any side effects – Well besides maybe needing a glass of water after!

1. Organic spray tans last just as long as regular spray tans
   1. Organic solutions have been around for a while now and have given manufacturers plenty of chances to perfect their non-harmful solutions. You can expect the same 10-14 day tan – Without the risks!

Health risks are generally in anything we eat or do. Organic solutions help to mitigate these risks by providing a product that you can swallow with little impact. Still worried, you can still go down and buy a local face mask, nose filters, or small goggles to prevent any tanning solution from getting past your skin.
