Some tips about spray tan products and how to keep healthy during your next spray tan!
For those of us who enjoy the benefits of tanning, UV rays have always been their worst enemy. Tanning beds and even taking in the warm sun have revealed many health impacts from sunburning to skin cancer – Basically any browning of the skin is a sign of damage! So what about spray tanning?
When I first tried spray tanning I was hooked instantly – No side effects, don’t have to lay out for hours, and it lasts for a a couple weeks with good moisturization. We’ve all been taught that the sun and other UV rays are a short term solution, but what can spray tanning do to your health? Here are some quick facts you may want to know to help guide your next spray tan:
- The main ingredient in most sunless spray tans is DHA
- DHA has been around since the early 70’s in most external beauty products. Although not harmful externally, when ingested DHA has shown to have some pretty adverse effects. To sum it up, make sure that your next spray tan is organic and approved by the FDA.
- Some organic spray tanning solutions have been evaluated and approved by the FDA
- This means that you can legitimately swallow the product without any side effects – Well besides maybe needing a glass of water after!
- Organic spray tans last just as long as regular spray tans
- Organic solutions have been around for a while now and have given manufacturers plenty of chances to perfect their non-harmful solutions. You can expect the same 10-14 day tan – Without the risks!
